Nutella, with its heavenly blend of hazelnuts and chocolate, has become a beloved ingredient in desserts around the world. Its rich and creamy nature makes it an ideal candidate for creating show-stopping treats that will impress even the most discerning dessert lovers.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Nutella (or any hazelnut-chocolate spread)
  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Fresh berries or a dollop of whipped cream, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the oven rack in the middle position.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the Nutella and egg yolks until smooth and well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the egg whites into the Nutella mixture using a spatula, taking care not to overmix and deflate the mixture.
  5. Sift the all-purpose flour and salt into the Nutella-egg white mixture. Fold it in gently until fully incorporated.
  6. Grease individual ramekins or oven-safe dishes with butter or cooking spray. Spoon the Nutella soufflé mixture into the prepared ramekins, filling them about three-quarters full.
  7. Place the filled ramekins on a baking sheet and transfer them to the preheated oven.
  8. Bake the soufflés for approximately 12-15 minutes, or until they have risen and set. The centers should be slightly jiggly.
  9. Carefully remove the ramekins from the oven using oven mitts. Let them cool for a couple of minutes.
  10. Just before serving, dust the tops of the soufflés with powdered sugar, using a fine-mesh sieve.
  11. Garnish with fresh berries or a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
